  • That's a wrap to the Lord's Test. It was an outstanding game with both teams taking its turn to dominate. India did a bit extra on the final day and that's the reason why they now have 14 points in the ICC World Test Championship. The visitors go top of the table, displacing West Indies who were number one after registering a heart-pumping one-wicket win against Pakistan on Sunday. Right then, that's all we have from this match. The third Test match will start on 25th August 2021 at Headingley. The first ball will be at 1100 local (1000 GMT) but the build-up will begin much in advance. Cheers!
  • KL RAHUL IS THE MAN OF THE MATCH! The Indian opener says that it was a proud moment for him and he is happy that his knock helped in a win for India. Adds that they had to give India a good start and his stand with Rohit was very crucial. Mentions that they have been working hard on their skills and even in the first game, the batsmen showed a lot of discipline. Hopes to continue the same in the next three games. On the onfield banter, KL Rahul replies that this is what you expect with two very competitive teams playing and they don't mind a bit of banter. Shares that the bowlers were very pumped after that and wanted to have a go at the English batters.
  • Virat Kohli, the Indian skipper, walks up with a big smile on his face. He says that he is super proud of the whole team for the way they stuck to their plans. Adds that the pitch didn't offer much to the bowlers. Further says that the way they played in the second innings was excellent and praises Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami. Shares that they had the belief that they can get England all out in 60 overs. On giving Shami and Bumrah a standing ovation at the Lord's Long Room, Kohli replies that it's necessary to applaud what they did and says that it's tough for them for the way they batted. States that both Shami and Bumrah were charged up and brought them the first two wickets at the start as well. Informs that they wanted to improve on their lower order batting and this was one of the focuses and the batting coach has worked hard. Feels that the belief was missing but now they have the desire to do the job for the team. Tells that those were priceless runs and that helped them to win. Mentions that he was a part of the winning team as a player under MS Dhoni last time at Lord's, but this one to get a result in 60 overs is quite special and especially with someone like Mohammed Siraj who was playing his first Test match here. Also shares that what happened in the field really charged them up and gave them the extra motivation. On getting good crowd support, Kohli smiles and says that it was not the same for the first four days but in the second half on Day 5, the crowd got behind them and these things are very crucial. Mentions that the victory came a day later after Independence Day but it's the best gift they can give to the people back home. Signs off by saying that they are not going to sit on their laurels. Regarding how he decides to take the DRS, Kohli answers that he likes to go with his instincts and he is ready to take the blame. Feels that if you don't take a chance, you will never know.
  • Joe Root, the English skipper, says that it's unfortunate that they didn't manage to see off 60 overs which is frustrating. Adds that the batters will be coming hard in the next three games. Root takes the blame and says that a lot depended on him and tactically he could have done better as a captain this morning. Mentions that he has to do a lot of learning and make sure to improve and be ready when next time a similar situation arrives. Further says that they didn't get many things wrong and only a few things went slightly wrong. Tells that Mark Wood and Moeen Ali played brilliantly, the former hurt himself but still showed the attitude to compete. Adds that it's good to have Moeen back and nice to see him enjoy his game. States that they are used to playing 5-match series and they have been in this situation before and have found a way to bounce back. Praises the crowd for their attendance and says that it's good to have the crowd back.
  • Stay tuned for the presentation...
  • As mentioned earlier, the momentum refused to stay in one corner in this Test match. Day 5 was no different. Once England removed the dangerous Rishabh Pant, they would have felt the Test was theirs for the taking. But, Shami and Bumrah, emerged as unlikely heroes with the bat and helped India to a position from where the fear of losing the Test match went out of their minds. After setting a target of 272 runs in 60 overs, the Indian bowlers turned on the heat and grabbed the series lead.
  • The penultimate day of this Test match turned out to be too tough for India as they lost three star batters in the morning session. With two out-of-form batsmen in the middle, we all hoped England to remove them quickly but this Test match never went in a straight line. Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane formed a century stand to lead the recovery. India started to claw their way back but just when it appeared that they will run away with a handy lead on Day 4, the English bowlers again made a comeback to get rid of both of them and Ravindra Jadeja.
  • The picture changed on Day 2. England bounced back with renewed energy and once again James Anderson was the centre of attraction. He led the charge with a 5-wicket haul and halted India's dominance. The touring team wasted a golden chance to bat England out of the match after losing 7 wickets for only 88 runs. The 'moving day' started with England's purposeful batting and Joe Root led them from the front. Two able partners in Jonny Bairstow and Moeen Ali rallied around Joe for vital partnerships and England looked set to out-bat India. But as was the case, momentum wasn't anyone's friend in this Test. The Indian bowlers seized the initiative in the final session of Day 3 and picked five wickets in a hurry to strand Joe Root (180) and restrict England's lead to only 27 runs.
  • England versus India, clash of the Titans! This Test series saw a massive build-up but the first Test turned out to be a damp squib mainly due to the weather. But if anyone had any doubt about the magnitude of this clash between two powerhouses of cricket, it was put to rest in the Lord's Test. We were a witness to some intense battle and captivating cricket. India got challenging conditions to bat in their first innings but the way Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul weathered the storm was simply amazing. Their opening partnership blunted England's bowling plans and another century stand between Rahul and Virat Kohli made Joe Root regret his defensive decision to bowl first on Day 1.
  • What a cracking finish to this outstanding Test match! Both teams fought tooth and nail and towards the end, it's India who have prevailed. England will be deeply disappointed with their batting, they had 60 overs to negotiate but the top batsmen flopped miserably. Credit to Jos Buttler though who batted against his natural instinct and consumed 96 balls during his stay. He was involved in a couple of stands with Moeen Ali and Ollie Robinson to keep England in the hunt but India managed to find a way to break those partnerships and register a big win.
  • The Indian players are running in celebration! Virat Kohli is pumped up. Siraj has uprooted one stump as a souvenir. What a champion bowler! 8 wickets in the match for him and he stood tall whenever his skipper needed him. India go 1-0 up in the series.
  • 51.5OUT! BOWLED! Siraj comes up with a beautiful delivery. He dishes it out close to off, gets it to straighten just a hint to beat Anderson's attempt to block it from the back foot. It whistles past the outside edge and tickles the off stump behind. Start the celebration! India win by 151 runs!
  • 51.4Length ball, angling in from outside off. Anderson defends it from the crease.
  • 51.3PEACH! Full and just outside off. Anderson looks to block but gets beaten.
  • James Anderson is the last batsman.
  • 51.2OUT! CAUGHT BEHIND! Jos Buttler runs out of patience and has a poke at a delivery. A touch short and outside off, Jos was leaving those well until now but this time goes to feel the ball. He is flat-footed inside the crease and gets a feather to the keeper. Rishabh Pant takes a simple catch and India get rid of the big fish.
  • 51.1Starts with a length delivery on middle and leg, angling down, Buttler tries to flick but misses. It goes off his thigh pad to backward square leg.
  • Mohammed Siraj returns in the attack now.
  • 50.6Bumrah returns to over the wicket and angles in a length ball on off, Wood defends it to the off side. 120/8
  • Mark Wood arrives.
  • Big shout for an lbw!  The umpire stays still. It looks very close and Virat Kohli has wasted no time in taking the DRS. No inside edge and the ball is crashing onto the stumps. India get their breakthrough.
  • 50.5OUT! LBW! The resistance has finally been broken by Jasprit Bumrah and Ollie Robinson is in disbelief! The slower delivery from around the wicket is angled away a bit and Robinson misses his defensive shot. The ball goes on to hit Ollie on the back leg and the Indians appeal in unison. The umpire shakes his head but the review is taken quickly by Virat Kohli. We can see that there is no bat involved and Ball Tracker shows that the ball did pitch in line and it was going on to hit middle and off. The decision is overturned and the Indians can smell victory. Jos Buttler is still out there though.
  • 50.5Bumrah is peppering Robinson with the short ball now as he digs in another fierce one. Robinson manages to duck under this one as well and a no ball is called for overstepping.
  • 50.4Bumrah bowls a quick, short one on middle from around the stumps. Robinson once again does well to duck under it.
  • 50.3Full and straight. Robinson defends it well.
  • 50.2Full, around off. Robinson leans forward and pushes it onto the off side.
  • 50.1Quick bouncer, on middle, ends up way behind leg. Robinson ducks underneath and Pant makes a good stop diving to his left.
  • 49.6Length ball, on off. Buttler blocks it out. 10 overs remaining now. 119/7
  • 49.5Overpitched on middle. Buttler blocks it dead straight and past the bowler for a couple as Shami chases it down from mid on.

  • 49.3This one is angled in on middle and leg, looking for the lbw or the leading edge. Buttler manages to defend it.
  • 49.2On a good length, on off and again a bit of extra bounce. Buttler defends it off the higher part of the bat onto the off side.
  • 49.1Length ball, on the pads. Robinson works it to deep square leg for one.
  • Mohammed Siraj is back on for possibly his final burst in this Test match. Hang on a minute, Ishant Sharma will continue as Siraj was off the field and is not allowed to bowl currently.
  • 48.6Back of a length, a fair bit outside off. Jos Buttler shoulders arms. 116/7
  • 48.5Length ball, outside off. Buttler makes the leave and the ball almost rolls along the ground towards the keeper.
  • 48.4Full, outside off but slower in pace. It was the double bluff but Buttler stays solid in defense.
  • More attacking field now. Short mid off, short mid on, short mid-wicket in place.
  • 48.3Angled in on middle and leg, Buttler dabs it down to silly mid on.
  • 48.2This one bounces a bit extra after pitching on a length around off. Buttler defends it from the higher portion of his bat.
  • 48.1Quick bumper, on off. Buttler ducks under it.
  • 47.6Length again, on the stumps but this one keeps low. Ollie Robinson does well to get his bat down in time. 116/7
  • 47.5Length ball, around off and shaping in. Robinson blocks it out.
  • 47.4Pitched up, on off. Jos Buttler pushes it through covers for three runs.
  • 47.3Length ball, outside off. Buttler leaves it alone.
  • 47.2Back of a length ball, on middle and leg, Buttler defends it down from the back foot.
  • 47.1Fractionally short in length and outside off, Jos allows it through by dropping his hands.
  • 46.6Shortish and on off, Robinson stays back and taps it down to point. Wants a run but Buttler sends him back. 113/7
  • 46.5A yorker outside off, Buttler squeezes it out through point for a single.
  • 46.4Bouncer, outside off, Buttler drops his wrists and allows it through.
  • 46.3Bumrah goes good length and arrows it around off, Buttler is on the front foot, not entirely, as he defends it to covers. A silly mid off has come in for any uppish drive.
  • 46.2Back of a length, just outside off, Buttler is not interested in playing at that.
  • 46.1Bumrah serves a good length ball on off, Buttler sticks on the back foot and defends it to the off side.
  • 45.6Fuller in length and on off, targeting the pads, Ollie has his bat down as he blocks. 84 balls left. 112/7
  • 45.5On a good length and close to off, holding its line, Ollie shoulders arms.
  • 45.4Fullish and outside off, Robinson drives but finds the cover fielder.
  • 45.3Ishant gets close to off but not close enough. It straightens with the extra bounce as Robinson pushes at it and misses.
  • 45.2A gentle good length delivery, again outside off, Ollie Robinson lets it be.
  • 45.1Back of a length, outside off, Robinson shoulders arms.
  • Time for one last mandatory break, a Drinks break. This contest has now reached boiling point and everyone can see that emotions are flying all over the ground. Mohammed Siraj got two-in-two a few overs ago and since then Buttler and Robinson have weathered the storm, somehow. Also, the final hour begins and 15 mandatory overs have to be bowled. We are all set for a thrilling finish! Ishant Sharma has been handed the ball.
  • 44.6EDGY FOUR! Identical to the last delivery, close to off and straightening a bit, Buttler tries to defend but it takes the outside edge and screams through the gap between slips and gully for a boundary. 112/7
  • 44.5Edged but safe. Bumrah hits the right area, around off on a length and gets it to straighten, Buttler brings a straight bat to keep it out but edges it behind. It falls short of KL Rahul at second slip.
  • 44.4Digs in a short ball but it's down the leg side, Buttler leaves and Pant dives across to his left to collect the ball.

  • 44.2The batsman lets the ball go outside his off stump.

  • 43.4Good skiddy pace from Shami, delivers it on a length and outside off, Ollie Robinson shoulders arms.
  • 43.3Back of a length, angling down the leg side, Robinson tries to flick but misses.
  • 43.2Fractionally short on middle, Robinson stays on the back foot, uses his wrists and works it to square leg.
  • 43.1Short in length and outside off, Ollie Robinson rocks back to cut but misses.
  • 42.6Slants in a full ball on off, staying down, Buttler does well to defend it back. 108/7
  • 42.5On a length and outside off, Buttler opens the face and steers it down to third man for a couple of runs.
  • 42.4FOUR! Easy pickings! Siraj is on the pads, on a length and angling down, Buttler flicks it aerially but wide of leg gully for a boundary.
  • 42.3In the channel outside off, Buttler shoulders arms.
  • 42.2Siraj follows up the short ball with a fuller length, Robinson eases it down to long on for three runs.
  • 42.1Bouncer around middle, Ollie Robinson ducks underneath it.
  • 41.6Goes probing around off, fuller in length, Buttler defends it back to the bowler. 99/7
  • 41.5Beauty! Angling in around off and holding its line, Buttler tries his best to middle his defensive shot but it beats the outside edge.
  • 41.4The batsman has just blocked that from his crease.
  • 41.3Good length again, around off and holding its line, Buttler looks to play at it initially but then withdraws his bat.
  • 41.2Outside off, on a good length, Buttler allows it through.
  • 41.1Gets behind the line of the delivery and blocks it down.
  • Mohammed Shami is back into the attack. He has figures of 8-3-13-1 so far.
  • 40.6Drifting down the leg side, Ollie Robinson tries to flick and possibly gets a faint edge. Pant dives across to his left, Jadeja dives across to his right from leg gully but the ball drops in front and sneaks between them. They take a couple of runs. 99/7
  • 40.5Turns it off his pads to mid-wicket and takes a single. Ollie returns on strike and Kohli is heard saying to him, 'at 122 clicks, don't even think of playing outside England'. Hmmm...some banter!
  • 40.5A wayward bouncer, down the leg side, Buttler leaves and Pant flies to collect the ball. It comes out of his gloves as he lands but no run taken. Called a wide.
  • 40.4Slightly short and close to off, Robinson taps it down to cover-point and crosses for a brisk run. The point fielder has a shy at the striker's end but misses.
  • 40.3Siraj gets his line right and serves a full ball on off, Ollie defends it from the bottom part of his bat.

  • 39.1Floated ball, full and on middle, Ollie Robinson defends it off the front foot.
  • 38.6Uses the angle of the bowler and works it through square leg for a single. India won't mind Ollie on strike. 93/7
  • 38.5Angling down the leg side, on middle and leg, Ollie tries to flick but misses. It goes off his pads to fine leg and they take a couple of leg byes.
  • 38.4Goodness me, what a delivery! This one shoots off from the surface, after landing on a shortish length around middle, Robinson tries to defend but misses and takes a blow on his chest. Unplayable. Siraj gives a stare.
  • 38.3No hat-trick. Back of a length, outside off, Robinson stays back and shoulders arms.
  • Ollie Robinson walks out to face the hat trick ball!
  • 38.2OUT! Sam Curran bags a King Pair! India are rampant, they are on a roll. Beauty from Mohammed Siraj again. He lands it in the line of the stumps and gets it to move away from the batsman. Curran has not stretched out enough in his stance as he tries to defend. But the ball takes the outside edge and settles into the gloves of Rishabh Pant. A mirror image almost of Moeen's dismissal. India can smell victory now. This is the first-ever King Pair at Lord's, poor Sam. Mohammed Siraj is on a hat-trick...
  • Who will come in to bat next? Sam Curran is the new man in.
  • 38.1OUT! Here is the breakthrough India were waiting for! Siraj beat the outside edge on multiple occasions in the last over and this time the ball has kissed the outside edge. Outstanding bowling from Siraj. He has hardly gone wicket-less in his spells. Serves it close to middle and off and takes it away from the left-hander, Moeen tries to defend without moving his feet and edges it behind. Virat Kohli, at first slip, makes no mistake as he completes the catch to his right. 21.5 overs left to negotiate for England, India need 4 wickets.
  • 37.6Quicker one, full and on middle, Buttler flicks but finds square leg. 90/5
  • 37.5Edgy! Jadeja comes from 'round the wicket and bowls a flighted full ball on off, Buttler leans forward to defend but it takes the outside edge. The ball rolls towards second slip.

  • 37.2Slower through the air, full and landing outside leg, Buttler pads it away.

  • 36.6Around off, seaming away, once again Moeen tries to push at it tamely and misses. 90/5
  • 36.5Full and on off, Moeen is very compact in his defense this time as he keeps it out to the off side.
  • 36.4Almost edges it behind. Some great lines from Siraj. Delivers it on a length around middle and gets it to nip away, Moeen hangs his bat down in defense but it beats the outside edge by a whisker.

  • 35.2Jadeja fires one in from around off. Ali looks to sweep but pulls out of the shot.
  • 35.1Loopy ball, on off. Ali defends it well.
  • 35.1SHOUT FOR A CAUGHT BEHIND! Jadeja begins with a flatter delivery outside off, gets it to break back in, Moeen is on the back foot as he tries to defend. Misses completely but there is some noise as it goes into the gloves of Pant. The Indians appeal but to no avail. Virat Kohli has a word with his keeper, Ishant, who was at point, says that he heard a noise. The Indian skipper takes the DRS but before anything can happen, the third umpire intervenes and informs that 'no point' as it's a no ball for overstepping. That's a first for me. Hang on, the Ultra Edge detects a spike, so Moeen is very lucky here.
  • Ravindra Jadeja is back into the attack now. 3-2-2-0 are his figures so far.
  • 34.6Bowls it from wide of the crease and delivers a full ball on middle, Buttler leans across a bit more in his stance as he pushes it down to mid on. 88/5
  • 34.5Pitches it up and outside off, inviting the drive, Buttler turns down the proposal as he makes a leave.
  • 34.4Shout for a caught behind! But it dies down immediately. That appeal was more in hope than expectation. A length ball close to off, holding its line, Buttler feels inside the line and misses.
  • 34.3Siraj gets closer to the line of the stumps, fuller in length, Buttler keeps his eyes on the ball and defends it to mid on.
  • 34.2Good length delivery, wide outside off, Buttler has nothing to do with it.
  • 34.1Fullish and on off, slanting in, Buttler is on the front foot with a dead bat as he blocks.
  • Time for a Drinks break. India started from where they left off after Tea and got Joe Root out in the first over after the break. Since then, the Indian bowlers have probed and probed but Jos Buttler and Moeen Ali have held their own. Apart from the dropped catch of Buttler by the Indian skipper, the English batsmen haven't given away many chances. It is poised nicely at the moment, with everyone on the edge of their seats. 26 overs, 5 wickets - that's the equation.
  • 33.6Too straight in line from Shami, Moeen closes the face of his bat and gently works it past short leg for a couple of runs. 88/5
  • 33.5A length ball on middle and leg, Jos tucks it through square leg for a single.
  • 33.4Fuller and on off, Buttler defends it with an angled bat to the off side.
  • 33.3Oohhh...that was perilously close to the off stick. Shami lands it on a length around off, going up the slope from the Nursery End, Buttler is in two minds, whether to play or leave and gets beaten as the ball whistles past the bat.
  • 33.2On middle, a fuller length ball, Moeen works it behind square leg for a run.
  • 33.1EDGED BUT SAFE! Shami angles in a length ball on top of off, Moeen stays back to defend but edges it behind. It drops in front of Rohit Sharma at second slip.

  • 32.5FOUR! Thumped! Slightly overpitched from Siraj, around off, Buttler presses forward and drives it crisply through covers for a boundary. He is in a defensive mode but still puts away the bad ball.
  • 32.4In the channel outside off, once again Jos is content in leaving deliveries outside off.
  • 32.3Shortish and outside off, curling back in off the seam, Buttler covers his stumps and shoulders arms. Big movement on this one.
  • 32.2Beats the outside edge. Siraj bowls it on a good length again, outside off and shaping in, Buttler tries to feel the ball and gets beaten.
  • 32.1Siraj begins his new spell with a good length delivery outside off, Buttler offers no shot. Rishabh Pant collects it on one bounce.
  • Mohammed Siraj comes in to replace Jasprit Bumrah. 4-1-13-0 are his figures so far.
  • 31.6Around off on a good length, the batsman has just watchfully blocked this out. 80/5
  • 31.5Good length delivery in the channel outside off, left alone.
  • 31.4Almost drags it on! FOUR! Shami puts it on a fuller length around off, shaping in, Moeen decides to leave it but it's a late call. The ball takes the inner edge, beats the stumps and rushes past leg gully for a boundary at fine leg. It's good for Ali that he didn't succeed in his decision to leave because that ball was heading for the stumps.
  • 31.3Bouncer around off, Moeen ducks with ease.
  • 31.2Once again Shami is right on the money, angles in a length ball on off, Moeen is also very alert as he defends it to the off side.

  • 30.5Darts in a good length from around off, Buttler meets it with a dead bat in defense.
  • 30.4Outside off, left alone.
  • 30.3A similar delivery but the line was quite wide outside off, an easy leave for Jos Buttler.
  • 30.2Fullish and arrowing in from outside off, Buttler defends it from the bottom half of his bat.
  • Axar Patel is on the field for Ishant Sharma.
  • 30.1Bumrah is bowling from over the wicket now to Moeen. Delivers it very full on middle, Ali pushes it gently to extra cover for a single.
  • 29.6This one moves into the batsman, from a length around off, Buttler has his eyes glued to the ball as he blocks it down to the pitch. 75/5
  • 29.5On a driving length this time, Buttler stretches his front leg forward to cover the line and shoulders arms. Much better!
  • 29.4Ufff, that was so close! Shami dishes out an outswinger around off, on a length, he draws the false shot from Buttler, who pushes inside the line and misses.

  • 29.2Good length ball close to off, seaming away, Buttler defends it from the crease.
  • 29.1Starts his spell with a short delivery outside off, shaping away, Jos shoulders arms.
  • Mohammed Shami is back into the attack. So far, he has figures of, 5-2-5-1!
  • 28.6That is defended solidly by Moeen to complete the over. 31 overs left in the day's play. 75/5
  • 28.5Excellent delivery, a bit fuller around off, there is a bit of late away movement as well, Moeen tries to defend but takes his bat near his body to let it go.
  • 28.4Bumrah keeps targeting the stumps, on a good length, Moeen is very solid in his defense.
  • 28.3Spears it in, full and on middle, Moeen has his bat down in time as he blocks it towards the bowler.
  • 28.2Arrows in a full length ball on off, Moeen defends it from the crease. The umpire has a look at the bowler's followthrough.

  • 22.3OUT! CAUGHT AT SLIPS! A huge blow to England, their skipper is dismissed in the first over after Tea. Root is looking down in disappointment. Is this the final nail in the coffin? Bumrah delivers for his team yet again. Hurls across a good length delivery outside off from wide of the crease, holding its line, Root is on the back foot and has a gentle poke inside the line. It takes the outside edge and goes to Virat Kohli at first slip. The Indian skipper is alert and takes the catch safely. The Indian players know the value of this wicket and the celebration from them is once again massive. Root had edged quite a few deliveries in the first innings as well but then they were landing short of the slip fielders. Not this time.
  • 22.2Good length ball on off, shaping in, Root defends it off the back foot.
  • 22.1Fuller in length and outside off, on a driving length to tempt the batsman, Root is not chaing it.
  • We're back, folks! After four days of exciting Test cricket, we are down to the last session. Only two results are possible now and India would be gunning for a win. 6 wickets more for a series lead. Can Joe Root guide his team to safety? Let's find out. Jos Buttler has joined his skipper and it will be interesting to find his approach. It's all about survival now. Jasprit Bumrah to kick off proceedings. All the lights are on at the moment. Here we go...
  • ... DAY 5, FINAL SESSION ...
  • With Jonny Bairstow removed at the stroke of Tea, England are in a big spot of bother. They have 38 overs to negotiate with 6 wickets left in the kitty. Needless to say, Joe Root will be the key and they won't mind some help from the heavens. There was a mild drizzle and light could become an issue as the evening progresses. Do join us at 3 pm GMT (4 pm local) for all the action from the last session of the Lord's Test.
  • What a lively finish to the afternoon session, a fitting end! India declared after batting for just 9 balls and then came out all guns blazing with the ball. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami combined to send the English openers back to the pavilion in no time. After that, it was a display of some extraordinary seam bowling. Haseeb Hameed got an early life in his innings and batted for around an hour with his skipper Joe Root in an 83-ball stand.
  • 21.6OUT! LBW! Lightning has struck on the last ball before Tea. Ishant Sharma and India are elated as the decision is overturned. Length ball, around off and nipping back in sharply. Bairstow looks to block but the ball goes through the gate and raps him on the back pad. There is a huge appeal from the Indians but the umpire shakes his head. Height could be an issue here. Virat Kohli does take the review at the last moment after having a word with his boys. Ultra Edge shows no involvement of the bat and Ball Tracker then shows three reds. A huge roar can be heard from the Indian crowd as this one was crashing into the middle stump. Kohli is screaming in joy. Joe Root is one more partner short as Jonny Bairstow has to depart as well. 67/4
  • DRS time! Huge shout for an lbw against Jonny Bairstow. Not given. Looks too high. Virat Kohli takes the DRS after consulting his players. No bat involved and the Ball Tracker shows that it's crashing into the stumps. What a review!

  • 20.6Pitched up, around middle and straightening off the seam. Bairstow gets behind the line to defend it. 66/3
  • 20.5Full, on leg stump and further going down. Bairstow looks to tickle it fine but maybe it took the pad on the way to the keeper.
  • 20.4Length ball, shaping away from off stump. Bairstow makes a good leave.
  • 20.3Very full, on off. Bairstow does well to keep that one out.
  • 20.2Beaten! Full in length and just outside off, Bairstow tries to defend close to his body but it nips away a shade to beat the outside edge.
  • 20.1A leg cutter, around off, Root taps it down to cover-point and pinches a single.
  • 20.1FIVE RUNS! Shami strays down leg again and once again the ball just swings miles after going past the batsman. Root leaves it alone and Pant dives a long way but still gets beaten as the ball races into the fence. No ball for overstepping has been called as well. So everything was wrong with this delivery.
  • Mohammed Shami is back into the attack minutes before Tea. 1/3 in his 4 overs so far. There's a leg gully in place.

  • 16.3Fuller, on off. Root drives it through covers for one.
  • 16.2FOUR! Half a chance for Rishabh Pant! Length ball, swinging in from middle and leg. Root looks to glance and gets it very fine, off a thin inside edge. Pant dives across to his left and just about gets a hand to it as the ball races away to the fence.
  • 16.1Full and swinging in. Root flicks it straight to backward square leg.
  • 15.6Back of a length, around off. Bairstow stays solid in defense. 48/3
  • 15.5Length ball, on the stumps. Bairstow blocks it out.
  • 15.4FOUR LEG BYES! Extra bounce and vicious movement. Ishan digs it in short around off, Jonny Bairstow is taken by surprise as he tries to duck. It brushes something, maybe the shoulder or the helmet of the batsman, before looping behind the keeper for a boundary.
  • Jonny Bairstow is the new batsman.
  • The finger has gone up after the lbw appeal against Haseeb Hameed. He takes the DRS immediately. Has he edged it? Nopes. No bat involved. The Ball Tracker shows that it's clipping the top of the leg stump. Umpire's call.
  • 15.3OUT! LBW! That ball came back in sharply! Ishant Sharma has made an immediate impact for India as he breaks a very important partnership. Hameed looks to block but the ball goes through the gate and raps him on the pads. Huge appeal and the finger is raised. Haseeb Hameed takes the review straightaway, maybe he thought that he got some bat. • 15.2Back of a length, around off. Root stays back and runs it down to third man for a single.
