  • That's all from this game. Bangalore became the second team this season after Delhi to get knocked out. Now, the action shifts to the second game of the evening where Kolkata are facing Hyderabad. See you there!
  • Man of the Match, Shreyas Gopal says that he is feeling great. Mentions that he wouldn't have felt half as good if they had lost the game. States that there is no set plan in place for a batsman like ABD. Admits there was a little help from the wicket. Adds that he needed to keep varying and relied on his googlies and flippers. Praises his bowling partner, Gowtham for his brilliance. Feels that he is a great cricketing brain and he wants to pick as much as he can from him.
  • Victorious Rajasthan skipper, Ajinkya Rahane, says that it was a much-needed victory for them. Mentions that they thought 160 would be tough to chase on this wicket. Credits his leggies for their amazing bowling and adds that it is not easy to bowl in the middle overs. States that the intention was to send Archer up the order and get the momentum. Adds that that way, it helped them to bat deeper. Feels it is important to play good cricket. Credits Klaasen for his good knock and is short of words for Tripathi's innings at the top of the order. Ends by saying that they will pray for the other results to go their way.
  • Bangalore skipper, Virat Kohli, says that it was a strange game for them. Adds that they were in a great position at one stage, 75/1, and the way they got bundled out wasn't ideal. Mentions that they needed to be smart regarding their decision-making and knock the ball around but 5-6 guys repeated the same mistakes. Admits that their middle order has not been their strength. Adds that they need to be wise about their team selection going ahead. Informs that AB de Villiers scored runs but the other guys didn't show enough composure. Credits Yadav, Chahal and Siraj for their good bowling. Feels that there are a lot of positives to take into the next season. Is disappointed that they couldn't finish the game. Stresses the fact that they were 75/1 at 8 overs and after that, they just lost their way which they shouldn't have. Ends by wishing the other teams best of luck for the final stage.
  • With the pitch assisting the spinners, Gopal didn't take long to strike the right chord. His lines and lengths along with clever variations were too hot to handle for Bangalore. He hunted down Parthiv Patel, Moeen Ali, Mandeep Singh and AB de Villiers in quick succession to make a complete mockery of the visiting side's middle order. Shreyas was ably assisted by Ish Sodhi, who also received ample support from the deck and created pressure from one end. The other bowlers were also very impressive and altogether it was a good show by Rajasthan, although they were a bit clumsy in the field.
  • A neat performance by Rajasthan to deliver the knockout punch to Bangalore! Chasing a target of 164 was always going to be a tricky task on this pitch and once Bangalore lost Kohli cheaply, it became trickier. However, Parthiv Patel and AB de Villiers stitched in a 55-run stand to keep the chase on track for the visiting team, the introduction of Shreyas Gopal changed things big time for the home team.
  • 19.2OUT! BANGALORE ARE KNOCKED OUT! Unadkat angles in a slower length ball around off, Siraj tries to heave it over mid-wicket but gets more height than distance. Samson from deep square leg and Gowtham from deep mid-wicket rush towards the chance. The former goes for the catch but it pops out from his hands at the last moment. However, the latter has it covered. He takes it on the rebound to put a full stop to Bangalore's campaign. RAJASTHAN WIN BY 30 RUNS! Amazing victory!
  • 19.1FOUR! Unadkat angles in a length ball around off, Siraj reverse sweeps it past the short third man fielder for a boundary.
  • 18.6Full and angling down, following the batsman, Chahal drives it back. 35 needed off 6 balls. Hmm... 130/9
  • 18.5Short and outside off, Chahal bottom edges his attempted shot.
  • 18.4A yorker at 145.3 kph, Chahal digs it out on the leg side.
  • 18.3Forces a full ball back to the bowler, Archer tries to stop it with his boot but ends up deflecting it towards mid on, they cross.
  • 18.2Angling down around leg, Siraj tries his best to put bat on ball but misses.
  • 18.1Run out opportunity, missed! Archer fires in a fuller length ball on leg, Chahal fails to flick and it goes off his pads towards the off side. Siraj comes running in looking for a run and Chahal is late in taking off. Klaasen runs to the ball, has a shy at the bowler's end but misses. A direct hit would have been curtains to this game and Bangalore's season.
  • Yuzvendra Chahal is the last batsman for Bangalore, batting for the first time this season.
  • 17.6OUT! Southee holes out! Unadkat delivers a slower one outside off, on a length, Southee fetches it from there and tries to clear the cow corner field. Fails to get enough power behind the shot and Gowtham takes the catch safely. End is nigh for Bangalore. 128/9
  • 17.5Swing and a miss by Southee as he attacks the length ball outside off.
  • 17.4Goes hard at a length ball outside off and lofts it over covers. It doesn't carry to the fielder in the deep and they cross.
  • 17.3Attempts a yorker but ends up delivering a low full toss, Southee gets it away off the inside edge and it squirts through square leg for a single.
  • 17.2FOUR! That's a lovely shot! A slower length ball around off, Southee picks it early, shuffles across a bit and heaves it through mid-wicket for a boundary.
  • 17.1Slower ball outside off, tapped to point for a run.
  • Jaydev Unadkat is back into the attack.
  • 16.6DROPPED AND FOUR! Archer delivers a full toss as Southee gives the charge. He slaps right back and Archer fails to take the return catch. It goes through his hands, beats mid off and races away to the fence. 121/8
  • 16.5Arrows a full ball down the leg side, Siraj flicks it to deep square leg for a run.
  • 16.5Wide! Slower delivery, on the shorter side and wide outside off, Siraj watches it closely before making the leave.
  • 16.4Goes hard at a full ball and gets an inside edge onto the pads. They cross.
  • 16.3Angling into the batsman, on middle and leg, Southee once again fails to put bat on ball and is hit on the thigh pad.
  • 16.2Slower delivery, on a length and angling in, Southee swings his bat at it but misses. That wasn't too far away from the off pole.
  • 16.1Direct hit would have been close! Fullish and outside off, Siraj drives it straight to extra cover and sets off for a risky single. The fielder misses his shy at the bowler's end and Siraj survives.
  • Jofra Archer is back into the attack.
  • 15.6Pushed to the cover region by the batsman. They pick up a single. 113/8
  • 15.5FOUR! Slower short ball this time, on middle at 117.9 kph, Siraj stands back and pulls it through square leg for a boundary.
  • 15.4Pacy delivery this time, outside off, Siraj swings and misses.
  • 15.3No hat-trick! In this season, many bowlers have got two in two but none has gone on to take a hat-trick. A good yorker, 114 kph, Siraj does well to dig it out from the inner half of the bat.
  • Mohammed Siraj walks in next.
  • 15.2OUT! Two in two and the Aussie takes a leap of joy. Disappointment written all over the face of Kohli who is sitting in the dugout. No cutters or slower ones by Laughlin, a tailender is there and Ben goes full throttle with his speed. Angles in a 134 kph delivery, right in the line of the stumps, Umesh swings and misses to find his stumps shattered. On a hat-trick, Laughlin.
  • Umesh Yadav is the new batsman.
  • 15.1OUT! Klaasen is having a ball behind the stumps. He takes a stunning diving catch this time. Laughlin hurls an off cutter around off, a bit on the shorter side, Sarfaraz tries to be cheeky with his little dab but ends up getting a thick outside edge behind. Klaasen dives full length to his right to take a one-handed catch. Stunning. Rajasthan are all over Bangalore like a rash.
  • Ben Laughlin is back on.
  • 14.6Slower bouncer, Southee once again swings and misses. Gets hit on the helmet and the ball rests near the pitch. Tim looks for a run but returns as Jaydev gets to the ball and has a shy at the striker's end. Connects with the stumps but the Kiwi is safely in. 108/6
  • 14.5The batsman swung at the ball and completely missed it.
  • 14.4Shortish and outside off, guided down to third man for a run.
  • 14.3And as the bowlers normally do nowadays, after getting hit, they immediately go back to off pace deliveries. This is one such delivery, on the shorter side outside off, Khan initially shapes up for the pull but then attempts to slash it through the line, misses.
  • 14.2FOUR! A very good shot! Unadkat bowls it on a good length and outside off, Khan stays back and clobbers it over the gap between extra cover and mid off.
  • 14.1A length ball outside off, Southee drives it through covers for a single.
  • Jaydev Unadkat is back on.
  • 13.6Helps it off his pads to short fine leg, straight to the fielder. 102/6
  • 13.5Edgy again! Southee tries to drive but it spins away to catch the outside edge. Rolls wide of Rahane at first slip and Unadkat stops it at short third man. A single taken.
  • 13.4Sodhi dishes out a googly wide outside off, a clueless Southee gets forward and just offers a straight bat in defense.
  • 13.3Again spinning away, Southee tries playing at it but gets an outside edge past Rahane at first slip for a couple.
  • 13.2Too full and outside off, Southee tries to drive but misses. Big spin there.
  • 13.1Shortish and dragged down to long on for a run.
  • Strategic break taken.
  • 12.6Too full outside off, driven straight to the cover fielder. Shreyas Gopal bowls out, 4-0-16-4, champion stuff! 98/6
  • 12.5Southee has played that off the front foot and into the ground.
  • Tim Southee is the next batsman.
  • 12.4OUT! Oh dear, if you are a Bangalore fan, this is the last sight you want to witness - AB de Villiers walking off the park! Gopal, you beauty. Serves a googly which has not been picked by the South African. He gets forward with a big stride and tries to whip it across the line. But he fails to put bat to ball and Klaasen is lightning quick to dislodge the bails. The Rajasthan players are running in celebration. They know the importance of this wicket. Bangalore are staring down the barrel, they need a miracle to save their season.
  • 12.3Pushed to the cover region by the batsman. They pick up a single.
  • 12.2Goes on the back foot and plays it down to the off side.
  • 12.1Gets back and cuts it through point for a run.
  • Sarfaraz Khan is the new batsman.
  • 11.6OUT! What are they doing? Colin falls this time. He attempts to play a booming cover drive. But it's a strategically bowled leg spinner which curves away after landing and takes the outside half of the blade. Rahane, arguably the best slip fielder in India, is stationed there and the rest is history. Another one bites the dust and the Rajasthan spinners are ruling the roost. 69 needed off 48 balls. 96/5
  • 11.5Googly around middle, de Villiers didn't pick and gets it away from the inner half of the bat. It rolls through square leg and they cross.
  • 11.4Turning away from around off, Colin gets back to play it around but it takes the outside edge and rolls wide of point. He crosses and smiles looking at his countryman, Sodhi.
  • 11.3Short and on off, cut through point for a single.
  • 11.2FOUR! Fifty for AB de Villiers, his 27th in the League! But he will know that his job is far from finish. Sodhi is on the shorter side around off, AB gets across and nails his pull through mid-wicket for a boundary.
  • 11.1Full and outside off, it's driven to sweeper cover where the fielder misfields and allows the second run.
  • 10.6A short delivery which has been pulled away. They pick up a single. Tidy over, only 3 runs and a wicket from it. 87/4
  • 10.5Flatter leg spinner on off, played down in front of the point fielder.
  • 10.4Presses forward and forces it down to long off for a run.
  • Colin de Grandhomme walks in next.
  • 10.3OUT! Brain fade, have to say. You have AB de Villiers at the other end, what's the need to try anything fancy. Just rotate the strike and give the master the opportunity to do the rest. But no, Mandeep probably wanted to end this game with one shot. He steps out to a leg spinning delivery, it lands outside off and keeps leaving him as he attempts to loft it over covers. Misses the ball completely and Klaasen this time has a simple stumping to do. Bangalore in a bit of bother now.
  • 10.2Spinning away, Mandeep taps it down to short third man, looks for a run but is sent back.
  • 10.1Flighted ball on middle, helped through mid-wicket for a single.
  • 9.6A googly on middle, it's clipped towards deep mid-wicket for a couple of runs. We have reached the halfway mark, 81 needed off 60 balls. 84/3
  • 9.5It's been driven superbly through the covers. One run added to the total.
  • 9.4Edged but safe! Sodhi bowls a leg spinner, drifting in and landing around middle and off, Singh sticks back expecting a googly and as a result gets an outside edge. It goes wide of first slip and they cross for a single.
  • 9.3A googly this time, around off, AB picks it and works it on the leg side for one.
  • 9.2Goes on the back foot and whacks it to sweeper cover. Straightaway calls for two and completes it with ease.
  • 9.1Turning away from the batsman, tapped down to point.
  • Mandeep Singh is the new batsman.
  • 8.6OUT! Another over in this match which has accounted for two wickets. This has turned the momentum in Rajasthan's favour, although with AB de Villiers at the other end, they just cannot afford to relax. A flighted full ball around leg, probably a googly, Moeen draws forward, trying to work across the line maybe but ends up chipping a straightforward catch back to the bowler. Gopal leaps to his left and catches the ball easily. A potentially game changing over by Shreyas. 77/3
  • 8.5Full and flighted outside off, driven to sweeper cover for one.
  • 8.4Gets forward and works it with the spin on the leg side for a run.
  • Moeen Ali is in next. A leg slip in place.
  • 8.3OUT! Stumped! Good work by Klaasen there. A flatter delivery around off, skidding away and staying low as well. Patel gets back to cut but misses and loses his balance a bit in the process. The keeper does well to collect the ball and takes the bails off in a flash. He appeals and then starts to celebrate. Parthiv watches his back leg and then he starts to walk back. The replays roll in and they find that Patel's back leg is on the crease. Nothing behind it and Bangalore lose their second wicket.
  • Stumping appeal is referred upstairs. Parthiv feels he is out and is already walking. Let's see...
  • 8.2Loopy and full on off, it's driven down the ground with the spin. The long off fielder cuts it off and they cross for a run.
  • 8.1Flighted and full on off, driven back to the bowler.
  • 7.6Flatter and on off, Patel gets back and cuts it down to short third man. 74/1
  • 7.5Strides forward and drives it with the spin through covers for a single.
  • 7.4Aerial but safe. Sodhi lets out a googly around off, Patel tries to flick but gets a leading edge over mid off. A single taken.
  • 7.3Calmly works it around the corner on the leg side and rotates the strike.
  • 7.2FOUR! Poor misfield in the deep by Archer! A short delivery by Ish Sodhi, as expected after the last boundary, de Villiers anticipates it, goes deep inside the crease and hammers his pull to deep mid-wicket. Archer in the deep does the hard work of getting to the ball but while picking it up, it slips from his hands and embraces the rope. Rajasthan cannot afford this! 50-run stand comes up.
  • 7.1FOUR! Innovates and innovates nicely! Starts off with a tossed up ball outside off, de Villiers is aware of the field and reverse sweeps it through third man to pick up a boundary.
  • Ish Sodhi comes into the attack.
  • 6.6Shorter in length, punched down to long on for a run. 63/1
  • 6.5The batsman works it down the leg side. The batsmen have run through for a single.

  • 6.2Shorter in length, de Villiers makes use of the depth of the crease and places it to deep point for a run.
  • 6.1Tossed up delivery, knocked down to long on for a single.
  • Strategic break taken. Meanwhile, Shreyas Gopal to roll his arm over now.
  • 5.6Slower delivery outside off, on the shorter side, Patel tries to run it past short third man but fails to do so. The fielder there makes a half stop and they cross for a single. Once again 10 runs off the over, Bangalore are 55/1 at the end of the Powerplay. 55/1
  • 5.5FOUR! Too full and on off, Patel camps back to make room and drills it through the gap between mid off and extra cover for a boundary.
  • 5.4Works a straighter delivery on the leg side but finds short mid-wicket.
  • 5.3Samson nearly takes a ripper... FOUR! A good length ball angling into the batsman, around off, Patel heaves it across the line and it flies in front of square leg. Samson in the deep charges a bit and then realizes that it's going over his head. Jumps to catch the ball with his right hand but fails to keep hold of it. The ball slips out and meets the fence.
  • 5.2The batsman plays a pull shot to this short delivery. One run added to the total.
  • 5.1Slower delivery on a length around off, it's punched from the crease to covers.
  • Jaydev Unadkat to operate from the other end.
  • 4.6EDGY FOUR! An off pace delivery wide outside off, 119.2 kph, Patel moves back a bit and attempts to go big over covers. But it catches the top edge and goes towards third man for a boundary. 10 from the over! 45/1
  • 4.5Laughlin gets away with one. Bowls it on the pads of AB who only manages to flick it to deep square leg. A single is taken.
  • 4.4Good delivery on this occasion by the Aussie. Takes the pace off the delivery and lands it a touch short around off. The ball jags back in a bit to beat de Villiers' bat, ends up going through the gap between his willow and body.
  • 4.3FOUR! ABD is looking in scintillating form yet again. The bowler there does his best to follow the batsman down the leg side but ends up bowling in his half. It's a slower one but on the fuller side, de Villiers presents the full face of the bat and strokes it back past his partner at the other end for a boundary down the ground.
  • 4.2Back of a length ball outside off, placed through cover-point for a single.
  • 4.1Slower ball outside off, Patel pushes and misses.
  • Ben Laughlin comes on for a bowl.
  • 3.6FOUR! He is literally toying with the bowling! The ball is coming in at 152.3 clicks on a fullish length on middle. Seems that de Villiers is relishing the pace. Just clips it over wide mid on and the ball races to the fence. 35/1
  • 3.5FOUR! Brilliant! This man is all class. Leg cutter in line of the stumps, de Villiers reads it correctly. Backs away and times his punch through covers to perfection.
  • 3.4Full length delivery outside off, pushed off the front foot to covers.
  • 3.3Almost chopped it on! On a length, angling in, de Villiers tries to block it but gets an inside edge that just misses the stumps.
  • 3.2FOUR! Begins with a bang! Back of a length ball on middle and leg, de Villiers swipes it away through backward square leg to find the fence.
  • 3.1Look at the speed gun, he is bowling with terrific pace at the moment. Hurls in a length ball at 150.8 kph on off, de Villiers works it through mid-wicket and hares back for the second run.
  • 2.6Tossed up ball on off, de Villiers gets forward and eases it down to long on for a run. Off the mark with ease and keeps strike as well. 21/1
  • AB de Villiers arrives at number 3.
  • 2.5OUT! Oh, bowled 'em! Kohli was looking itchy at the crease and has eventually departed. Gowtham dishes out a genuine off spinner and delivers it from wide of the crease. It lands just outside off as Kohli comes dancing down the track. He swings his bat aimlessly and gets beaten by the inward spin. The ball goes through to rattle the stumps and Rajasthan taste an early success. A big wicket too. This is the 8th time this season that the Bangalore skipper has got out to a spinner. Is there a weakness? Meanwhile, Gowtham is delighted after picking the wicket of one of the very best in the business!
  • 2.4Was there a stumping chance? Not sure. Gowtham fires it in, around leg and it skids back in, Patel walks ahead a bit to swing hard but misses. The keeper has not collected it and they cross for a bye.
  • 2.3Gets on the front foot and helps it across the line through mid-wicket for a single.
  • 2.2Goes on the back foot and punches it down the ground to long on for a run.
  • 2.1Turns it off his pads to the leg side for a single at mid-wicket.
  • 1.6SIX! Patel ends the over in a similar manner he started it. A biggie over third man. A little too straight on this occasion though. Archer continues to bang it in short. This time it's 147.4 kph, Patel ramps it over first slip and it goes all the way. 14 from the over. 16/0
  • 1.5The batsman works it down the leg side. They pick up a single.
  • 1.4Archer is bowling fire at the moment. Digs in a short ball on off, 145 kph, Patel goes for the pull shot but fails to middle it properly. It loops in front of square leg but falls in no man's land. A single taken.
  • 1.3Once again Patel is beaten. He gives the charge to the bowler who hurls in a 148.6 kph short ball around middle. Parthiv is beaten for pace.
  • 1.2Another pacy delivery, around off and angling in, Patel walks forward and is hurried up. Somehow manages to keep it out off the inside half of his bat.
  • 1.1SIX! Very nicely played by the little man. Archer bangs in a short ball around off, 144 kph, Patel leans back a bit and just uses the pace of the bowler. Finds the sweet spot of his bat and it flies over third man. Brendon McCullum tries catching it at the dugout but drops.
  • Jofra Archer to bowl from the other end.
  • 0.6Play and a miss! Gowtham bowls it short and wide outside off, skidding off the surface, Kohli backs away to cut it square of the wicket but misses. 2/0
  • 0.5Keeps his length short to Patel who helps it through mid-wicket for a single.
  • 0.4Leans forward to a full ball and forces it down to long on for a run.
  • 0.3A late little cut attempted by Kohli but he gets it away off the bottom edge. It hits the keeper on the boot and rolls near him. Early nerves for Kohli!
  • 0.2A bit on the shorter side this time, Kohli backs away to work it with the spin but finds the fielder on the leg side.
  • 0.1Beaten! A skiddy delivery first up, on a length outside off, Kohli plays for the spin and is beaten.
  • Back for the chase! The men concerned are back on the field. So, here is the deal - Bangalore will have to chase this target within 16 overs to finish with a better NRR than Mumbai, while Rajasthan need to win by 70 runs to go past Kolkata's NRR. Plenty at stake as Parthiv Patel and Virat Kohli stride out to open for the visiting team. Krishnappa Gowtham to begin proceedings with the ball...
