  • That's all we have from Super Sunday. Mumbai won their match against Kolkata earlier in the evening to stay alive in the tournament while Punjab broke their 2-match losing run with a convincing win over Rajasthan. Tomorrow, there is a single game coming your way. It will be Hyderabad hosting Bangalore at 2000 IST (1430 GMT). Do join us for all the action. Cheers!
  • Mujeeb Ur Rahman is adjudged the Man of the Match for his fantastic bowling spell. His figures of 4-0-27-3 bamboozled Rajasthan. The Afghan continues to enjoy a good debut season.
  • Credit should be given to Rajasthan for trying hard but they didn't have enough runs in the bank. Still, their bowlers fared exceedingly well to create immense pressure but towards the end, they gave it away. Till the second strategic break, the visitors were in with a chance but Stoinis and Rahul changed gears after that to earn an easy win. So, the hundred percent record for a chasing team winning in Indore remains in tact.
  • Just when it seemed that the pair of Rahul and Nair will run away with the show, Anureet Singh struck to send the latter back to the pavilion. The promotion of Axar Patel didn't go as per the plan for Punjab but the presence of KL Rahul in the middle meant that they were always hopeful. Eventually, he got an ally in Marcus Stoinis and together they overhauled the target with 8 balls to spare.
  • It wasn't a usual dashing performance upfront by Punjab in their innings. In fact, it was a subdued one. Chris Gayle and Mayank Agarwal departed in quick succession and the hosts ended up with their lowest Powerplay score of the season. Rajasthan had the upper hand at that stage of the match but the combination of Rahul and Nair raised a fifty stand to keep the chase on track.
  • Done and dusted in style! Take a bow, KL Rahul! Tremendous batting effort by the opener. So far in this season, he provided brisk starts to his team and today showed his other side of the game as he anchored this chase and steered Punjab closer to the playoff berth. Rajasthan will be deeply disappointed at the moment as once again they failed to cross the line. Their season is just refusing to take off after a promising start.
  • 18.4FOUR! That is it! Game, set and match! Low full toss on the stumps, Rahul takes a stride ahead and unfurls a classical drive on the up through the covers. Once again timing and placement were exquisite from Rahul and the ball speeds away to the boundary. The Punjab dugout roars in delight as they WIN BY 6 WICKETS AND 8 BALLS TO SPARE!
  • 18.3Short of a length ball on the pads and Rahul tucks it square on to the leg side. They take two runs.
  • 18.2SIX! Biggie! Super shot, Rahul wants to finish this game quickly! This one is pitched right in the slot and Rahul hammers it in emphatic style over the bowler's head for a maximum. Holds the pose as well. Stand and deliver stuff!
  • 18.1Full pitch delivery on the stumps and Rahul bunts it down the ground to long off. They take a couple more. Punjab just a couple of hits away from a win!
  • 17.6Unadkat finishes with a dot. Full pitch delivery on the stumps, it is much slower in pace. Stoinis waits back and defends. 12 from 12 needed, Punjab should get over the line with absolute ease from this position. 141/4
  • 17.5Full pitch delivery, Rahul closes the face of the bat as he looks to flick that. The ball goes off the leading edge to backward point. They take a run.
  • 17.4FOUR! Well placed and the ball races away to the fence! Too much width on offer and Rahul cuts it past the man at backward point. Fielder dives to his right but he is unable to stop that one.
  • 17.3SIX! SHOT!! Rahul hits the maximum with disdain over the backward square leg fence! Short ball into the pads, he moves inside the line of it and hits it flat over the rope.
  • 17.2Full delivery on the off, Rahul powers it to deep cover. They go for the second run. Unadkat collects the throw from the deep and breaks the stumps but Stoinis is well in!
  • 17.1Good length ball outside off, Rahul backs away and punches it to deep cover for a brace.
  • 16.6Full ball on the pads and Stoinis flicks it to wide long on. Stokes attacks the ball but he isn't quick enough to prevent the second run. 27 needed from 18 balls, required rate has dropped down to nine for Punjab with this big over. 126/4
  • 16.5Pitches it full on the stumps and Rahul powers it to long off for a single.
  • 16.4SIX! Cracking shot! Fifty to Rahul, his seventh Indian T20 League fifty! Subdued celebration from the Punjab opener as he is well aware that the job is not done yet! Short of a length ball outside off, Rahul makes room for himself and upper cuts it over third man fence for a maximum.
  • 16.3Full pitch delivery on the stumps and Stoinis hits it to long off. They take single.
  • 16.2FOUR! Pumped through the covers! Archer bowls a full toss on the stumps, Stoinis backs away a little and hammers it hard past the man at extra cover. The ball speeds away to the boundary.
  • 16.1Full ball on the pads and Stoinis whips it to deep square leg. The Punjab pair rush back for the second run.
  • Jofra Archer comes back for a new spell.
  • 15.6Slower ball from Stokes, full on the stumps, Stoinis goes hard at it. He manages to squirt that off the inner half to short fine leg for a single. 110/4
  • 15.5Good length ball on the leg stump line, Rahul steps across and swipes it to fine leg for a single.
  • 15.4Slower ball on the stumps, Rahul steps out and whips it to wide long on for couple more.
  • 15.3Pitches it full on off and Rahul square drives it away to deep point. They scamper back for the second run.
  • 15.2Full pitch delivery in line with the stumps, Stoinis backs away to drive that. He gets an inside edge square on the leg side.
  • 15.1Short of a length ball and Rahul pulls it away to deep square leg for a single.
  • Ben Stokes comes for the new spell.
  • This game is nicely poised at the moment. 51 needed off 30 balls. KL Rahul holds the key but he will need support from the other end. Rajasthan have a few good death bowlers and let's see how they fare in this crunch situation. We're in for an entertaining finish and that's for sure.
  • Strategic break.
  • 14.6Full pitch delivery on off and Rahul plays a drive to the cover region. They steal a quick single. 102/4
  • 14.5NOT OUT is the call from the TV umpire! There wasn't enough evidence to suggest whether the catch taken by Samson was clean or not and the third umpire goes with the call from his mates on the field. Short of a length ball and Rahul backs away to cut that. But he slices it to backward point where Samson dives forward and goes for it with both the hands. Catches it really low and starts to celebrate. But the replays didn't find any angle to support his claim.
  • Sanju Samson has taken a fantastic diving catch and is claiming it! He starts to celebrate straightaway, but the umpires aren't convinced and the soft signal is NOT OUT! Soft signal is very important in such cases as now the TV umpire will need to have a conclusive evidence to overturn the on-field call. What will be the final decision?
  • 14.4Risky single! Direct hit needed but Rahane misses the stumps! Stoinis pushes it to covers and takes off for a quick single. That was an ill-judged single and the Englishman is really lucky.
  • 14.3Good length ball on the stumps, Stoinis goes back and defends it square on the off side.
  • 14.2FOUR! Outside edge and the ball quickly flies past the keeper! 100 up for Punjab with that boundary! Short of a length ball, angling across nicely, Stoinis is looking to punch that but he gets a thick edge past the keeper and the ball races away to the third man fence.
  • 14.1Good length ball on the stumps, Rahul sits on the back foot and pushes it wide of the man at point. They take a run!
  • 14.1Wide! Slower ball from Unadkat down the leg side, Rahul looks to glance that, he misses it and the ball goes to the keeper. Wide called!
  • Jaydev Unadkat comes back for a new spell.
  • 13.6Punched by Stoinis down the ground for a single and he retains the strike for the next over. 58 needed from 36 balls, can Punjab do it? 95/4
  • 13.5SIX! Finally, Stoinis connects one and sends it searing over the long on fence! Loopy delivery right in his arc and the Aussie smokes it over the ropes for half a dozen.
  • 13.4Another play and a miss! Flatter delivery outside off, Stoinis goes back to cut that one. He can't lay bat to ball.
  • 13.3Beauty! Flatter leg break, spun sharply after pitching, Stoinis played down the wrong line and missed it.
  • 13.2Full delivery outside off, Rahul pushes it through the covers for a single.
  • 13.1Rahul plays another cover drive and once again he fails to find the gap.
  • 12.6Faster one on the stumps, Stoinis hangs back and defends it out. 87/4
  • Marcus Stoinis is the next man in.
  • 12.5OUT! Axar wanted to go big but D'Arcy found him 'Short' with a large leap near the fence. Ignore my love for wordplay. Gowtham darts this on the stumps and Patel goes for the big shot over mid-wicket. Patel looks to up the scoring rate as he goes for the big heave across the line but he fails to connect properly. The Aussie in the deep shows his athleticism and takes a fine catch. Excellent effort from D'Arcy at deep mid wicket! He fully stretched himself with a leap and pouches that one quite nicely! Another flop show from Axar. His team is trying to make a Krunal Pandya out of him but so far has not succeeded.
  • 12.4Pushes it quicker through the air and Rahul forces it away to long on for a run.
  • 12.3Rahul dances down the track and slaps it straight to the man at extra cover.

  • 11.5Shortish delivery into the pads, Patel swipes it away to deep square leg for a single.
  • 11.4Full pitch delivery on the stumps and Rahul powers it to long on for a single.
  • 11.3Clever change of pace from Unadkat, Rahul simply had no clue to it. He was early into the shot and misses it altogether.
  • 11.2Good length ball on off, Rahul stays back and cuts it on to the off side. Can't beat the man at point.
  • 11.1Short of a length ball, Patel stands tall and powers it to long on for a single.
  • 10.6The batsman works it down the leg side. One run added to the total. 80/3
  • Axar Patel walks out to bat.
  • 10.5OUT! Drags it on! Maiden wicket for Anureet Singh as a Rajasthan player. This is one wicket the visitors were desperately looking for. Smart piece of bowling from Singh, he took some pace off it and outclassed the Punjab batter. Nair goes for the pull but was quite early into the shot and gets a fat bottom edge. Unluckily for him it goes straight onto the stumps. Rajasthan strike at the right time as this partnership was threatening to run away with the show.
  • 10.4Nair works it to deep square leg and they take two. That's the 50-run partnership between Nair and Rahul. Good job from this pair, keeping Punjab in the hunt after early hiccups.
  • 10.3SIX! Grand strike from Nair! Stunning pick-up shot from the stylish right-hander! Length ball on the pads, he went across and whacks it over the square leg fence for a biggie.
  • 10.2Chip shot from Nair, he manages to hit that full ball from Singh back over him. The ball rolls away to long off and they take a couple.
  • 10.1Fuller length ball on the stumps, Rahul powers it down the ground to long on for a single.
  • 9.6That one skids through after pitching, Nair quickly brings his bat down in time and blocks it. 68/2 from first ten overs and Punjab now need to up the ante. 68/2
  • 9.5SIX! Classy shot from Karun Nair! He dances down the track to that loopy delivery and lifts it neat and clean over covers. Did that hit the boundary cushion on the full? Replays are in and yes it has hit on the full. That's half a dozen.
  • The umpire wants to check whether that has gone all the way or bounced inside the ropes.
  • 9.4Rahul punches it away to long on and gives strike back to Nair.
  • 9.3Darts this on the stumps and Nair works it away to deep mid-wicket for a single.

  • 7.3Repeat of the previous shot but this time Rahul hits it to the man at deep mid-wicket. They take a single.
  • 7.2FOUR! Pulled away with utter disdain! Flatter ball on the stumps, Rahul clears his front leg out of the way and pulls it hard away to the mid-wicket boundary.
  • 7.1Nair waits for the length delivery from Gopal on the back foot and forces it through the covers.
  • Shreyas Gopal replaces Jaydev Unadkat.
  • 6.6Short of a length ball, Nair waits back and powers it to long on for a single. 42/2
  • 6.5Full pitch delivery outside off, Rahul plays a drive but he toe ends it down to third man. Single taken.

  • 4.5Short of a length ball, Nair jabs at it, gets a thick edge to first slip. Rahane was the fielder there and he collects it on the bounce.
  • Karun Nair is the next man in.
  • 4.4OUT! Stokes strikes in his very first over! Mayank has hit one straight to the man at deep square leg. This season keeps going downhill for Agarwal, he stands there in disbelief and starts to walk back. Short of a length delivery, Mayank nails the pull shot to perfection but unfortunately for him, he finds Tripathi in the deep who doesn't have to move an inch. Just the kind of start Rajasthan needed with the new ball, they have got an important couple of wickets inside the Powerplay. Will the shaky middle order of the hosts get exposed again tonight?

  • Mayank Agarwal walks out to bat.
  • 3.2OUT! Where is the ball? It is in the hands of someone. Who is he? Samson, you little beauty! He has taken a bullet but it's Gayle's innings which dies! The West Indian absolutely smashes a short delivery through the line, doesn't bother to keep it down and it has gone straight to the fielder at point. Samson shows tremendous guts to put his hands up to catch that and he comes out unharmed after taking it! That's ferociously struck and was travelling at a lightning speed. No 'Gayle storm' today for the Punjab fans and the streak of five consecutive fifty stands for the opening wicket is broken today.

  • 1.2Angles it in at a good pace, Rahul hops and tucks it through square leg for a single.
  • 1.1Back of a length delivery outside off, KL Rahul taps it down on the pitch.

  • 0.6Flatter ball on the off stump line, Gayle backs away and cuts it to the man at backward point. 1/0
  • 0.5Darts this on the leg stump line, Gayle flicks it on the leg side.

  • Welcome back for the run chase. 153 is what Punjab need to get over the line. One would feel it would be a stroll in the park for them. Let's see if it happens or not. Out walk Chris Gayle and KL Rahul to open the batting. The duo has scored 5 consecutive 50-plus stands this season. Will they make it 6? Krishnappa Gowtham to have a go with the ball first up. Let's play...
