  • So that is it from this game. Chennai are back to winning ways and Delhi now have made their chances of finishing in the top four even more difficult. Not that it was ever easy but they now have to win almost all their games. Tomorrow, on Tuesday the 1st of May, we have two teams which are themselves desperate for two points playing as Bangalore take on Mumbai at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium at 2000 local (1430 GMT). Till then, take care and goodbye!
  • Shane Watson has been awarded the Man of the Match for his blistering knock 78 from 40 balls. It laid the foundation for Chennai to post a big total and eventually grab the win.
  • Rishabh Pant was the only player to put up any kind of a fight. He scored a handsome 79, even threatened to get his side across the line, but it was too much of an ask from just one man. His partnership of 88 with Vijay Shankar was superb, but fell short nevertheless. Shankar did score some lusty blows towards the end to keep things interesting, but it was too little too late. Another loss to Delhi's name this season.
  • Chennai are back to winning ways with a dominating performance at home. After losing to Mumbai at this same place in their previous encounter, this was the perfect response they could have given. First, the batsmen did the job with the bat. Watson fired, then Rayudu and Dhoni joined in and took the Yellow Army past the 200-mark. And then, the fine job was continued with the ball. Early wickets were taken and the pressure was put on.
  • 19.6A single to end. That is it. Full and on middle, Shankar flicks it through mid-wicket for a run. CHENNAI WIN BY 13 RUNS!
  • 19.5Outstanding yorker! Outside off, Tewatia jams it out towards point for a run.
  • 19.4That should be it! Unless Ngidi bowls an extra. Full and on middle, Shankar tries to go big but gets an inside edge onto his pads. The ball rolls on the leg side for a run.
  • 19.3Short and on middle, Shankar lofts it over covers for a brace. Three biggies needed now. 17 from 3.
  • 19.3Wide! Down the leg side. Shankar misses the flick and the umpire signals a wide.
  • 19.2SIX! Fifty for Shankar and it is his 2nd in this League. His fourth maximum in the last five balls faced by him. This is short and outside off, Shankar pulls it over the mid-wicket fence. 20 needed from 4.
  • 19.1The off cutter on off, Tewatia hits it down to long off for a run.
  • 19.1Wide! Outside off, Rahul lets it be and the umpire stretches his hands.
  • 18.6SIX! 28 needed from the last over. They got three biggies in this over, they need five in the next. Another slower ball outside off, Shankar once again picks it and sends it sailing over the long on fence. 184/5
  • 18.5Seam up ball on leg stump, Shankar tries to flick but misses to get hit on the pads.
  • 18.4SIX! Consecutive biggies! So due to this they are mathematically still in it. Still a tough task though. Short and on middle, Shankar pulls it over the square leg fence for a biggie.
  • 18.3SIX! Shankar has connected and he has hit that a long way. Slower ball on off, Vijay picks it early and deposits it in the mid-wicket stands.
  • 18.3Wide! Down the leg side, Dhoni does well to stop it and the umpire signals a wide.
  • 18.2Short ball, Tewatia pulls it uppishly towards long on who collects it on the bounce. A single taken.
  • 18.1Slower ball outside off, Shankar hits it straight down the ground for a single.
  • 17.6Short and outside off, Tewatia tries to cut but misses. 49 needed in 12 balls to win. 163/5
  • 17.5In the air... just out of Dhoni's reach! Ngidi could have easily had two in two. This is a bumper on middle, Shankar takes on the challenge of pulling it but gets a top edge which lobs behind the keeper. Dhoni runs backwards and sticks out a hand but fails to get to it. A run taken.
  • Rahul Tewatia is the next man in.
  • 17.4OUT! Game, set and match! You have to say. Pant was the last hope and he has fallen. Nevertheless, he has fought like a warrior but it was always going to be a tough task. Short and outside off by Ngidi, Pant throws his bat at it but gets a top edge which flies towards sweeper cover. Jadeja there settles under it and takes it easily.
  • 17.3Shuffles across and throws the kitchen sink at the ball outside off but only connects with thin air.
  • 17.2FOUR! What a shot! Slower ball outside off, Pant flat-bats it through mid on for a boundary. Pant on fire here. Can he do it all alone?

  • Lungi Ngidi is brought back on.

  • 15.6SIX! 18 from the over! Pant says the game is not yet over. Full and on the pads. Pant flicks it over the square leg fielder. The timing is such that it has gone all the way. 66 in 24. 146/4
  • 15.5FOUR! Falls over as he plays the shot but gets the desired result. Slower ball on middle, Pant flicks it fine down the leg side and the ball races away. 12 from this over till now.
  • 15.4Fuller and outside off, Pant hits it through covers and bags a brace.
  • 15.3FOUR! Sloppy work in the field but Pant won't mind as he brings his 50 up. His 5th in the Indian T20 League. Fuller ball on middle, Pant lofts it over the bowler's head. He has not timed it that well. Rayudu in the deep from long off, runs to his left, slides but lets the ball through.

It is the shorter ball this time and it is on the body. Munro goes for the pull but only manages to get a top edge. It takes the top edge and lobs towards Jadeja at mid on who takes a couple of steps back and pouches it. An early wicket for Chennai and this is something Delhi did not need. The free-flowing Shaw makes his way back cheaply this time.
  • 1.3FOUR! This is even better than the last shot! Fuller on middle, Shaw hits it through mid on and there is no stopping that. Second boundary from the over.

  • 0.1Delhi are underway! This is short and on off, Shaw guides it down to third man for a run.
  • We are back for the chase! Delhi have a huge task ahead of them. 212 is what they need. Colin Munro and Prithvi Shaw make their way out to the middle. They will try and get their team off to a flier. The latter will be on strike and he will be facing Lungi Ngidi. Here we go...
