  • That is it from our side for this match. England have leveled the series with a thumping victory in the Mecca of cricket and set up thrilling game for the third and the final ODI of the series. However, the cricket continues around the globe. You can catch the second Test between Windies and Bangladesh just by switching tabs. We will see you again at 1230 GMT (1130 local) on Tuesday at Headingley, Leeds. Till then, ciao!
  • Man of the Match Joe Root says that it's similar for everyone as he believes the more time one spends in the middle the better they feel with their craft. Believes that the team has been playing a great brand of cricket throughout this summer. Praises the bowling effort from the bowler and says it was crucial to beat a team like India. Talks about learning from their mistakes and taking it an over at a time.
  • England captain Eoin Morgan says they learnt a lot from their mistakes in the previous game. Praises his batters, especially David Willey's innings at the end. Backs up his decision to bat first as it's his home ground and he knows the conditions better. Further asserts that Joe Root and his experience is immense, more so on sluggish pitches like these. Ends by saying that he believes that if they continue to play the way they did today, they should win the next in Leed's.
  • India captain Virat Kohli starts by saying that the pitch got slower in the second innings and adds that once you lose three wickets early, it gets difficult to chase a stiff target on such a wicket. Asserts that they like to test the character of the team and backs up the bowlers they played today. Praises the spin duo of Moeen Ali and Rashid Ali who he feels put them under pressure and didn't allow them to get runs. Defends MS Dhoni's innings and says that he is a match-winner and he will come good, if not today. Further adds that it was a bad day for most of our batters and believes that they will bounce back in the next match. Ends by saying that England is a good side and he expected them to bounce back after the loss.
  • India on the other hand had a decent start as the Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan put up a 49-run partnership. Once the former threw his wicket away, two quick wickets pushed them back. After that, Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina stitched a threatening 80-run but both got out at the wrong time. This put the batters coming in under pressure and made them play rash shots. The spin of Moeen Ali and Adil Rashid bowled superbly as they didn't allow the lower order batters to get runs.
  • That is it. England have leveled the series in a grand fashion. They have outplayed the Men in Blue at Mecca of cricket and win the second ODI by 86 runs. After a dominating performance with the bat, their bowlers put their hands up and went through the dangerous looking batting line-up of the visitors. Liam Plunkett took a 4-fer, however, it was a win set up all the bowlers. Everyone except Ben Stokes got into wickets and made a mockery of the Indian chase.
  • 49.6OUT! And England have their revenge. They defeat India by a big margin and add salt to their wounds by bowling them out as well. Fuller on the stumps, Chahal looks to go big downtown but can only loft it as far as Ben Stokes at mid on, positioned at the edge of the circle. ENGLAND WIN BY 86 RUNS!

  • 48.2Pushes this one to the covers for nothing.
  • 48.1Sharp bumper from Plunkett, Kuldeep barely manages to duck and evade.
  • 47.6Comical stuff out in the middle. Chahal taps this towards backward point, sets off but seeing Moeen Ali diving and stopping the ball, he rushes to get back before the throw comes in. • 46.4OUT! Second of the over, England one step close to victory. Taking the review was a mere formality. Length ball around off, it cuts back in and hits Siddarth Kaul on the pads. Flush in front of the stumps, loud appeal goes up and so does the finger. Kaul takes the review, but it doesn't help him. He's out of here.
  • An lbw decision against Siddarth Kaul is referred upstairs. Looks plumb...
  • 46.3Full ball fired outside off, Kuldeep opens the bat face and squeezes it past point for one.
  • 46.2Back of a length around off, tapped to backward point with an open face. Single taken.
  • Siddarth Kaul to bat now.
  • 46.1OUT! Dhoni holes out! He finally decides to go for it. Charges out to this length ball on the stumps and swings across the line. Hits it straight down Ben Stokes' throat at deep mid-wicket who makes no mistake in gobbling that up. England just 2 wickets away from victory now.

  • 34.1FOUR! And Dhoni on the charge straightaway. He comes out charging out of the crease to play the flatter delivery and thrashes it to the square leg boundary. They need to take control of the game and that's what Dhoni is looking to do.
  • Drinks break. Safe to say, India's last hopes lie with the current pair of Dhoni and Hardik. Usually you'd think Dhoni would hold one end and Hardik would attack, but given the asking rate, seems both would have to attack. Should be an intriguing finish either way.

  • 31.1OUT! Bowled 'em! Couldn't resist the temptation. Lost his patience and is done in because of it. Looped up googly on middle and leg, it turns ever so slightly and that's enough to get Suresh Raina. He kneels down to wind up for the big slog sweep and goes through with it, but the ball goes right through the big gate. The furniture behind is disturbed and that's the other set batsman gone. He too falls short of a fifty. England on top now.

  • 26.6OUT! Adil Rashid has struck gold. The Indian skipper and the king of chases Virat Kohli has been dismissed here. He falls just 5 short of his fifty. The off break from Moeen, it comes back in and catches Kohli dead in front of the stumps as he plays across the line and misses. Big appeal and the finger goes up quickly. No thought of the DRS from the skipper as he knows he's gone. Partnership of 80 comes to an end. Is this the moment England can capitalize on? 140/4
  • 26.5Worked to mid-wicket for nothing.
  • 26.4Dropped! Should have been taken. Roy is one of England's better fielders, you'd bet on him to take these. • 24.2Raina goes down the ground too, but on the other side, to long off and takes one run.
  • 24.1Loopy off break on middle and off, Kohli uses his wrists as he works this down to long on for a single.
  • 23.6The batsman has played that off the front foot and into the ground. 126/3
  • 23.5Drives this full delivery through the gap in the covers and changes ends.
  • 23.4Leans ahead and knocks it through to long on for one.
  • 23.3Dropped! Tough chance but you've got to take those. And you expect someone like Buttler to take it. The googly on off, Raina doesn't pick it up and hangs his bat out to dry. Gets an edge which the keeper fails to collect. That was a big chance. Could it prove costly?

  • 21.4Another bumper, very close to off, Suresh helps the pull to deep square leg for a single.
  • 21.3Short on off, rises a bit too much than expected. Kohli attempts to pull but mistimes it towards mid on as a result.
  • 21.2Stokes throws this fuller and wider outside off, Virat walks a step across and cuts it firmly, only to find the man at point.
  • 21.1Starts the over from around the wicket and angles a length ball into the hips, Raina hops and tucks it fine down the leg side. One run to the total.

  • 19.6Plays it with an angled bat and guides it to third man. One run added to the total. 109/3
  • 19.5Short of a good length, Kohli initially winds up for the ball but seeing the ball not rise as much, he adjusts and dabs it just wide of point. Takes off as Roy gets to the ball and fires a throw at the bowler's end. The Indian captain make it inside in time, but crashes into his counterpart while doing so. No harm done, both seem fine.

  • 17.5Little too straight in line, turned through backward square leg for an easy run.
  • 17.4Width offered outside off, Kohli is a bit uppish as he slices this. Wide enough of the man at point though, so no harm done as such. Two runs result.
  • 17.3Hits the deck hard once more, some extra bounce is extracted as it's served on a length around off, Kohli defends it down in front of covers.
