  • So that is it from the first game. India have emerged victorious and they have done it quite easily in the end. They face Pakistan next on the 11th of November at 1100 local (1500 GMT). Till then, take care and goodbye!
  • Indian skipper, Harmanpreet Kaur who is giving her second interview. Says winning and losing is a part of the game. Mentions the new coach has changed their mind-set and they are happy he is a part of their team. States Mitali is their key player and it is their plan of sending her down the order. Adds further Rodrigues does not feel the pressure and she is an exciting player. Ends by saying there is room for improvement in the bowling department.
  • New Zealand skipper, Amy Satterthwaite, says they were outplayed today. Credits the way Kaur played. Admits that they weren't confident about using the DRS and hence did not use it. Adds that they tried everything against Kaur but nothing worked. Ends by saying that she is proud of the way her team played and she is now looking forward to the next game.
  • Man of the Match, Harmanpreet Kaur, says she feels good but there is still a long way to go. Mentions that there is still room for improvement. States that she knew she would catch up once she gets her eye in. Credits the way Rodrigues played and adds further that she is very mature but she can get much better. Ends by saying that she (Kaur) had a bit of a fever but she feels better now.
  • The task was always a big one for New Zealand. A target of 195 is never easy to chase. They got off to a good start via Bates and Peterson, but wickets kept falling. Bates held one end and scored a fifty, but it became too difficult after a point as she departed looking for the big hits. Martin provided a late impetus, but it was too late by then. The Indian bowlers piled on the pressure well and were backed up in the field as well. Barring Sharma, all got wickets, with Poonam and Hemalatha getting 3 apiece.
  • A commanding performance from India as they beat the Kiwis in some style. A large part of their win is down to skipper Harmanpreet Kaur's stunning maiden T20I ton. Her partnership of 134 runs with Rodrigues, which came after the top order rather fell cheaply, took the game completely away from New Zealand. The skipper really accelerated and made up for the poor start in the Powerplay. It was enough to get India to 194, which was the highest total in WWT20 history.
  • 19.6OUT! INDIA WIN BY 34 RUNS! A superb performance from the Women in Blue. Radha bowls it outside off, Jensen looks to swing this out of the park by coming down the track and misses. It's a mere formality for Bhatia behind the stumps.
  • Amelia Kerr next in.
  • 19.5OUT! Another wicket down! Kasperek skips down the track and lofts it short of a length ball towards long on. Not enough elevation on it, Sharma out in the deep comes running in to her left and takes a superb diving catch.
  • 19.4Full outside off, driven to the cover area.
  • 19.3FOUR! Two in two! Bit of a top edge but it's enough. Once again Kasperek is down on the ground as she brings out the slog sweep. It goes over short fine leg for another boundary.
  • 19.2FOUR! Fuller in line of the stumps, Kasperek moves a long way across her stumps, gets low and slog sweeps it over backward square leg for a boundary.
  • 19.1Drives this full ball towards mid on for a single.
  • Radha Yadav to bowl the final over.
  • 18.6FOUR! Short, width on offer outside off, Kasperek backs away and cuts it fiercely through point for a boundary. 151/7
  • Hayley Jensen is next in to bat.
  • 18.5OUT! A stunning knock from Martin comes to an end. A touch quicker and shorter around off, Martin swings and gets a top edge which skies towards extra cover. Kaur is there and she takes the catch without any problem whatsoever.
  • 18.4FOUR! Superb batting from Katey Martin. She skips down the track, gets close to the pitch and slams it over the covers for a boundary.

  • 18.2FOUR! Loopy and full from Poonam, Kasperek kneels down and nails the slog sweep to perfection. Through backward square leg and that's a boundary.
  • 18.1Dropped! Should have been taken. Martin dances down and whacks this straight back to Poonam. The bowler sticks her hands above but can't hold on to it. It falls behind her and a single is stolen.

  • 17.4Fuller in length and outside off, driven through the covers for a single.
  • 17.3FOUR! Short of a good length well outside off, Martin goes across and pulls it over square leg for a boundary.
  • 17.2Not out! Martin survives. Full in length and just outside off, Martin makes room, gives the charge and looks to go big downtown. The ball goes past the bat and when Bhatia collects she appeals along with the bowler. Nothing from the umpire. The review is taken and it shows the noise was of the bat hitting the ground. Review lost.
  • The DRS is called for by India. It's for a caught behind decision against Katey Martin.

  • 17.1Wide! Way outside off, wide called by the umpire.
  • Arundhati Reddy is back.

  • 15.4FOUR! Floats it up around off, Martin brings out the broom and sweeps it nicely in the gap through square leg for consecutive boundaries.

  • 15.2The batter failed to make contact and was hit low on the pads.
  • 15.1Outside off, quite slow in pace, Martin looks to hit it but fails.
  • Poonam Yadav is called back on.
  • 14.6Short ball, pulled away into the leg side for a single. 84 needed off 30 to win. 111/6
  • Leigh Kasperek walks into the middle next.
  • 14.5OUT! Green departs! Green comes down the track to this tossed up ball and tries to clear the mid-wicket boundary. Doesn't get enough power behind it and Deepti Sharma comes running in to her left. She dives and takes a superb catch. India inching closer towards victory.
  • 14.4Fuller and slower, just outside off, she moves across the stumps and slogs it over mid-wicket. Gets a single for doing so.
  • 14.4Wide! Too far outside off, across the tramline, wide signalled.

  • Maddy Green comes out to the middle next.
  • 13.4OUT! That's the wicket India wanted. The big wicket of Suzie Bates. She departs in the hunt for the big runs. Low full toss outside off, Bates looks to clear the off side but ends up slicing it to Hemalatha at point. She gobbles it up without any trouble. Is that the final nail in the coffin for New Zealand?
  • 13.3Full outside off, driven square on the off side for nothing.
  • 13.2Good length delivery outside the line of off stump, Martin punches it through covers and rotate strike.
  • 13.1Full toss on the stumps, Bates slogs it aerially through mid-wicket and gets to the other end.

  • Jess Watkin is the new batter in.
  • 9.3OUT! GONE! Sophie Devine is out of here. Short, slow and wide outside off, in an attempt to bash this away, Devine slaps it to captain Kaur at extra cover. She moves to her right and takes it well.
