  • Right then! England, the way they started off in Rajkot were completely opposite after it. When a team lose a series 4-0, they need some real soul-searching. On the other hand, the No. 1 Test team has only better with every game and today they showed they are on top for some reason. The action isn't over yet. These teams will continue to battle in the New Year. We now have a 3-match ODI series followed with 3 T20Is starting from 15th January, 2017 at 1430 IST in Pune. Hope you have enjoyed our coverage and really hope to have you on board for future games. Until next time, it's goodbye from us. Cheers!
  • The Test trophy is now handed to the proud Indian skipper, Virat Kohli. He gets another one under his belt and then his mates join in to pose for the photographs. The Chepauk crowd lauds for them and they deserve every bit of it, don't they?
  • MAN OF THE SERIES AND VICTORIOUS INDIAN SKIPPER, VIRAT KOHLI on winning the match says that this match is an evidence of character to battle out for even the last match of the series after already winning the series 3-0. He adds that he wanted the youngsters to step up as they have the talent and had got out cheaply till now. He also said that KL Rahul has had an excellent session with the bat in the domestic circuit but he was not able to convert it here and there comes nearly the double ton for him. He also lauded as he did the job for them in both the innings with the ball. The English players were very good in the first session but we always knew that we have the caliber and strength to take them out. So the believe in there amongst makes a lot of difference. There is too much respect in the dressing room and every one is helping out each other there. He opines that they don't think much what people think about them because they believe in Each other. He also adds that they showed their character by always outscoring them. The think to watch out for in this series was that they never thought that they were out of the game and always bounced back. On his pace attack being better than the English pacers he said that Umesh Yadav was really good with the ball and he was very well supported by Ishant today by bowling on the right areas. He opines that everyone in the team has stepped up when asked to.
  • ENGLISH SKIPPER, ALASTAIR COOK doesn't want to give any excuse and starts by crediting the Indian team and accepts they outclassed them. Adds they started off well but after lunch they gave it away and feels this was a good fifth day wicket. Further says the main reason they lost the series was because they kept dropping crucial chances and the home side punished them for the same. Continues by saying how important it is to take those chances. Opines it isn't easy to play 5 Tests in 6 weeks and that it is also a tough place to come and win. Concludes by saying they weren't a tough opposition.
  • MAN OF THE MATCH, KARUN NAIR says on his triple ton that he thinks it will take some time to sink in and he could not sleep last night as he had too many messages to reply to. Further says it was a very good feeling to win and to contribute to a winning cause and putting in the effort to win the series 4-0. He also adds that it is a very beautiful place to be in the company of senior players.
  • Day 5, two sessions left and Ravindra Jadeja had other ideas. He literally wrecked havoc and outclassed his partner in crime - Ashwin. He took 10 wickets in the match which also happens to be his best figures in Tests. The Indians have once again proved that it's not only difficult to beat them in their own den but it is next to impossible. Let's wait and see what the captains of both the teams have to say...
  • It was Moeen Ali for the visitors who scored 146 and that was outclassed by KL Rahul who missed out on a double ton by one run but in the end the limelight was stolen by the young man, Karun Nair who went onto score a triple century and helped his side post a mammoth total on the board. With the track not having any demons in it, one would have thought this match could very well head towards a draw and with how Cook and Jennings saw off the session this morning, not many would have thought what is stored next.
  • The English batsmen after putting up an impressive performance with the bat, succumbed to pressure and have themselves to blame to have not survived just two sessions on the final day. Cook will be really bewailed with this performance as he couldn't make the most of it after winning the all-important toss on day 1. They got runs on the board but as has been the case in the series, whatever England scored, India went past it every time they had a go with the willow.
  • The Indian team has done it, they have bowled out the deep English batting line-up and mind you, they went wicketless in the morning session. Ravindra Jadeja, the tormentor-in-chief came out all guns blazing after lunch and spun the web viciously to bundle out the visitors. He claimed a 7-fer on what was a flat deck, oh boy, this is something spectacular.
  • 87.6OUT! It's all over for England! Jadeja removes the stumps and is up and running. What a catch from Karun Nair as well, a complete team performance this. Jadeja floats it up outside off, skidding in a bit, Ball comes forward to defend and gets an outside edge towards second slip where the triple centurion, Nair takes a sharp one-handed reflex catch to his left. INDIA WIN BY AN INNINGS AND 75 RUNS AND TAKE THE SERIES 4-0!

Broad gets across and pads it away towards the off side. They all appeal for an LBW but the umpire stays unmoved. Kohli comes and has a word with Ashwin and then takes the review. Remember, he hasn't offered any stroke so it only has to hit the stumps and it doesn't. Broad survives a scare here, India lose a review. 205/8

  • Just before entering the field, the Indian players are posing for the photographs. The players are out in the middle for the final day's play. The overnight batsmen COOK and JENNINGS will start the proceedings with the bat. RAVICHANDRAN ASHWIN will start with the ball for India.
  • On the other hand, the visitors will have to bat out really well to see out the day as it's a mission of 90 overs for both the teams. England who batted for 157 overs in the first innings will hope to dish out a similar performance again as the pitch has not changed a lot. It will be an exciting day's play for sure as India will try to finish off the series with a 4-0 whitewash. Join us in a while as live action is underway.
  • Hello and a warm welcome on Day 5 of the final Test between India and England. India hold the upper hand in the match as there are only two results possible for them - a win or a draw. The hosts will try to rattle out the openers as soon as possible to impose some real pressure on the English middle order.
  • ... DAY 5, SESSION 1...
  • The task is cut out for the Englishmen. Cook and co. very well know that it will need them to bat out of their skins if they are to draw this Test match. The only thing they would be eyeing for will be to take it session-by-session. So, with a full day's play remaining, one side needs to bat it out while other needs 10 wickets. Who will come on top? A battle to survival beckons us. Catch us at 0930 IST for the final day's play. Until then, it's goodbye from us. Cheers!
  • The hosts wiped out the deficit and then took the lead to 282, which should tell you the story of the Indian innings all by itself. The home side declared very late in the day, but they would consider it to be worthy. England was asked to come out and deal with just 5 overs and the only smiling point for them in the hard toiling day would be to head back unscathed.
  • A fabulous day of Test cricket comes to an end! It has been India's day by miles. And the highlight package of the day goes without saying - Karun Nair and his triple hundred. It was once again proved that this Indian team can bat and bat deep. Ashwin, Jadeja played the supporting role and not only helped Nair achieve the feat but also helped their side post a gigantic total on the board.
