  • That's it from the game. We move to Mohali for the 4th ODI. With Australia back in this series. That match promises to be another exciting one. It will be played on Sunday, 10th March. It will begin at 1330 local (0800 GMT) Join us for that one. Till then, cheers!
  • Man of the Match, Usman Khawaja, says there is no better feeling than winning especially against a strong Indian side. Credits how Virat Kohli played but appreciates the effort by his bowlers. Mentions they wanted to bowl first as they were not sure what a good first innings total was but Finch and himself played really well. Reckons the wicket got slower as the game progressed. Ends by saying he is pleased with the runs he scored.
  • Australian skipper, Aaron Finch, says it is a pretty decent effort by his boys. Credits how they batted and also appreciates the new ball bowlers. Feels it is important for the set batsman to continue as it is not easy for the new batsman coming in and that is exactly what Khawaja. He is working hard on his game and he is pleased with his effort today. Appreciates Khawaja's, Zampa's, Cummins' and Richardson's effort in this game.
  • Indian skipper, Virat Kohli, says they did well to pull back things towards the end and were quite optimistic about their chances of chasing this down. Felt that they expected dew to fall in the evening but that did not happen. Reckons that the wicket was not an easy one to bat on and you need to make use of the loose balls. States that early wickets made their task very difficult. Adds they have lost early wickets in this series, something which has not happened to them a lot often, hopes they can improve that. Says he is very pleased with his knock. Ends by saying there might be some few changes in the next game but they will be playing with the same mentality.
  • For Australia, Pat Cummins had yet another decent time with the ball. Zampa was expensive but it was his wickets which won them the game. Jhye Richardson impressed one and all and justified his selection. Stay tuned for the presentation in a while...
  • Australia though did not let the lost momentum affect them as they came out all guns blazing with the ball. Pat Cummins and Jhye Richardson were exceptional with the new ball as they dismissed the top order within Powerplay 1. Dhoni and Kohli then played themselves in and steadied the ship with a 59-run stand. However, the former was dismissed just as he started to get going. Jadhav then came out and it was his partnership with Kohli which brought India back in the game and changed the momentum. The two added 88 in 75 balls and revived hopes in the Indian camp. However, just as the tide seemed to be turning in the hosts favor Zampa struck. Kohli though continued, he along with Vijay Shankar built yet another 45-run stand with the skipper getting to his ton. The two were going great guns but it was once again Zampa, who got rid of the Indian skipper. Shankar then along with Jadeja did try to fight but the task was a very difficult one and in the end the Indians fell short quite comfortably.
  • THE SERIES IS STILL ALIVE! Australia have managed to make it 2-1. A very convincing performance by them. After quite a few matches one cay say the Aussies have put up a good performance with both, bat and ball. They were inserted and their openers came to the fore adding a massive 193-run stand. Usman Khawaja was the star as he scored the ton. They though did not end their innings with the bat with momentum on their side but still set a good enough target of 314 for the Indians.
  • 48.2OUT! In the air... taken! There goes the last man. Cummins takes it. It is his 3rd wicket of the game. Length ball on off, Kuldeep swings but only manages a top edge. It balloons towards Finch at mid off and he makes no mistake. All smiles in the Australian camp as they have WON BY 32 RUNS!
  • 48.1Short and outside off, Kuldeep looks to cut but misses.
  • 47.6A yorker on middle, Bumrah works it towards fine leg but no run taken. 281/9
  • Jasprit Bumrah is the last man in.
  • 47.5OUT! The fun is over! Shami departs and Richardson gets his second. Short and outside off. Shami looks to slap it but it goes off the toe end towards Cummins who takes it. Australia a wicket away now from winning their first game of the ODI series.
  • 47.4FOUR! That has been dragged into the gap! Slower ball, Shami was a little too early into the stroke, he still manages to drag it through the mid-wicket region for a boundary. Two boundaries now in this over, 2 balls to go.
  • 47.3A low full toss on middle, Shami hits it towards mid off.
  • 47.2FOUR! Shami is not going to go down without a fight here. He is off the mark in style. Short and on the body, Shami goes for the pull, he gets a top edge over the keeper and into the fence.
  • Mohammed Shami walks out at number 10.
  • 47.1OUT! Surely the game is now done, right? The last recognized batsman walks back. It is the off cutter. There is no pace at all on that delivery. Jadeja looks to go over mid on but holes out to the fielder there. Maxwell takes it easily.
  • 46.6Keeps strike now with a single towards point. 10 from this over, keeps India in the game. 41 needed in 3 overs. 273/7
  • 46.5Now goes back and works it towards deep mid-wicket. Takes one and then seeing Stoinis get to the ball slowly and completes it.
  • 46.4Maxwell goes back to firing it outside off, Jadeja cuts it to point.

  • 45.3This time Kuldeep gets his bat on ball and hits it towards deep cover for a single.
  • 45.2Play and a miss. Slightly slower outside off, Kuldeep looks to hit it but misses.
  • 45.1Good length delivery on off, Yadav pushes it to the fielder at point.

  • 43.5Another defensive stroke and another dot! This will just build the pressure on Jadeja.
  • 43.4The batsman has pushed it to the cover region.
  • 43.3Back of a length on off, Yadav pushes it to covers.
  • 43.2Just ahead of a length on off, the ball stays a touch low. Yadav gets his bat down in time and keeps it out.
  • 43.1Length ball outside off, Jadeja guides it down to third man and a run is taken.
  • Kuldeep Yadav is the next batsman in.
  • 42.6OUT! Shankar holes out! India's possible last hope is walking back. He was well-set, striking the ball nicely but falls at the wrong time. Australia into the bowlers now. This is tossed up, around middle, Shankar goes for the slog sweep again. Hits it nicely but does not get the desired elevation. It goes towards the man at deep mid-wicket. Jhye Richardson there takes a good low catch. One though can question the shot as the runs needed per over was already hit in this one. However, Shankar must have thought another hit and the pressure would have eased big time. Had it come off, it would have been praised, it now has not and it is Australia's game to lose. 251/7
  • 42.5Tosses it up around off, Shankar keeps it out.
  • 42.4FOUR! In the gap! They need a boundary every over and Shankar has hit one in the last over and hits one in this. Brings out the slog sweep. It is not off the middle but hit well enough to clear the fielder at mid-wicket and away from the fielder in the deep.
  • 42.3On the stumps again, Jadeja goes back and works it through mid-wicket with soft hands. A single only.
  • 42.2This time they get two! Jadeja works it through mid-wicket, it is in the gap and they take two.
  • 42.1Good fielding! Shankar with the turn works it around the corner. He had played that with soft hands so there was a chance of a second but Cummins in the deep gets to the ball quickly and keeps it down to one.
  • 42.1A false start there! Down the leg side and it has been wided.
  • Nathan Lyon is back.
  • 41.6A single to end and 11 comes off the over! A good one for the hosts. 72 needed from the last 8 overs. Shankar goes back and pushes it through mid-wicket and keeps strike. Finishes off with figures of 10-0-70-3. He has been expensive but has taken three crucial wicket. 242/6
  • 41.6WIDE! Down the leg side, Shankar looks to sweep but misses.
  • 41.5FOUR! Much-needed boundary and a beautiful shot this. Makes room and also dances down the track. Gets to the pitch of it and lofts it over covers for a boundary.
  • 41.4Should have done better there Jadeja. He comes down the track and converts it into a full toss. He though only manages to hit it all along the ground down to long on for a run.
  • 41.3Goes flatter and on off, Shankar off the back foot works it around the corner for a run.
  • 41.2Very full again! Shankar hits it hard down to long on. They take one, see Marsh fumble and then go for the second. Complete it with ease.
  • 41.1Jadeja hits it down to long on and takes a single. Australia won't mind singles at the moment.
  • 40.6Good length and outside off, Jadeja looks to play it with an angled bat but gets an inside edge towards fine leg for another single. 231/6
  • 40.5Another slower ball and this one also does not bounce a lot. Shankar waits for it this time and works it towards short third man for a run.
  • 40.4Slower ball, that grips in the surface. Shankar is a little early into the shot and the ball hits his pads.

  • 39.6Another huge shout but not given! This one was closer! This pitches on the stumps. Jadeja looks to sweep but misses. He gets hit around the thigh area. The bowler puts in a loud shot but the umpire shakes his head. A tight over this, just 4 from it. 87 required in the last 10. Now then... I mentioned it was close, it was actually out. Hawk Eye shows three reds but Australia do not have a review. Will this cost them? 227/6

  • 38.3On middle, Jadeja tucks it to the fielder at mid-wicket.
  • 38.2Length ball on middle, Jadeja plays it late to the point fielder and shouts a loud no to his partner.
  • 38.1Good length delivery on off, Shankar hits it towards point and takes a single.
  • 37.6On the stumps, it is worked towards mid-wicket. 10 runs from the over but also the wicket of Virat Kohli. This is probably the over which changes the whole complexion of the game. 221/6
  • 37.5Floats it up on off, Jadeja drives it to covers.
  • 37.4The leg spinner on middle, Jadeja works it with soft hands towards mid-wicket and takes two.
  • Ravindra Jadeja is the new man in.
  • 37.3OUT! BOWLED 'EM! Zampa has the last laugh! He gets the man Australia desperately wanted. Zampa is pumped up. He has got all the three big wickets, first Dhoni, then Jadhav and now Kohli. Once again it is the full ball which does the trick for him. It lands on leg stump, Kohli looks to flick but misses. The ball kisses the leg pole. Kohli walks back after playing a brilliant innings but one feels, he takes the hopes of India chasing this down along with him. India need another 95 runs, however, there are now two all-rounders batting and only the bowlers to come. Australia right on top.
  • 37.2FOUR! Consecutive boundaries! Zampa overcompensates and bowls it short on middle, Kohli goes back and pulls it over the mid-wicket fielder and into the fence. Zampa feeling the pressure here, two poor balls to begin with.
  • 37.1FOUR! Kohli is in some mood now! He is smashing everything at the moment. Full and outside off, Kohli strokes it wide of the cover fielder and away from the sweeper for a boundary. Ideal start to the over and pressure on the bowler now.

  • 35.5FOUR! Edge but India will take it. Short outside off, Shankar looks to cut it but gets a thick outside edge and it flies through the vacant slip region for a boundary.
  • 35.4Not Out! Shankar's leg went nowhere outside the crease. Flighted ball outside off, Shankar looks to sweep but misses. Carey takes the bails off in a flash. He appeals. The square leg umpire takes it upstairs and replays show that Vijay's leg was inside the crease.

  • 35.3Played through mid-wicket by the batsman. They pick up a single.
  • 35.2SIX! Virat goes down town. Flighted on off and middle, Kohli takes the aerial route and lofts it over long on. It goes high in the air and for a moment it looked like it will fall to the fielder. But it has enough on it to take it over the ropes.
  • 35.1Excellent fielding. First from Marsh and then from Cummins. Full length delivery on middle, Kohli hits it through mid on. Marsh runs to his left from long on and gets down in time and pulls it back. Cummins then pulls it back as the ball was going to the fence. He does well too. So only two runs.
  • 34.6Keeps strike now by working it through mid-wicket and getting to the other end. 191/5
  • 34.5100 for India's run machine. Back-to-back for him and it is his 41st ODI ton. What a player this guy is. Once again he is leading from the front and once again it is in a high-pressure situation. He gets there with a whip towards wide long on and takes two. The crowd is up here on its feet, giving him a standing ovation. The skipper though will know, the job is yet not done.
  • 34.4On the pads, Shankar flicks it to mid-wicket and rotates the strike.
  • 34.3NOT OUT! Yes it has pitched outside leg. Australia have lost their review here. Flighted ball pitching outside leg, Shankar looks to sweep but misses. There is a stifled appeal from Maxwell but they go upstairs for the review. Replays roll in and the Hawk eye show that it was pitching outside leg. Australia lose their review.

  • 32.5Flatter and on the stumps again, Kohli looks to work it on the leg side but gets it off the inner half towards square leg. A single.
  • 32.4On the stumps, it is pushed back to the bowler.
  • 32.3Nicely bowled now! This is pitched around off and it turns back in a little. Shankar looks to play with the turn but misses. The ball goes extremely close past the off pole, the keeper fails to collect it and a bye is taken.
  • 32.2FOUR! Nicely played! This is bowled quicker and outside off. Shankar goes back and then just uses the pace of the ball and guides it through point for a boundary.
  • 32.1Fired on middle, Shankar with the turn works it to mid-wicket.
  • 31.6On off, Shankar pushes it to the fielder at mid off. 175/5
  • 31.5Flighted on the stumps, Shankar starts his innings with a solid defense.
  • Vijay Shankar is the new man in.
  • 31.4OUT! LBW! Stun silence here in Ranchi. Tossed up delivery on off, Jadhav looks to sweep but misses and gets hit right in front. Zampa thinks he has got his man and the umpire agrees with him and shows Jadhav the dreaded finger. A very unnecessary shot at this stage of the game. He thinks about the review for a minute but Kohli reckons he is a goner so Jadhav walks back. The 88-run stand has been broken and a crucial wicket for the Aussies as the partnership was looking dangerous. However, Virat Kohli is still out there so the game is definitely not over.

  • 30.4Good line! On the stumps and Kohli can only defend it out.
  • 30.3FOUR! SLAPPED! What a shot this is! Not a very bad delivery that. Length and outside off, Kohli makes room and then hits it hard through covers and the ball races away to the fence. Already 8 from the over.
  • 30.2FOUR! It is raining boundaries here! On the pads and it is too easy for Kohli. He flicks it fine on the leg side and a boundary results.
  • 30.1Kohli uses his feet but Jhye bowls it short. It is played back to the bowler.
  • 29.6Punched off the back foot by the Indian skipper. The batsmen have run through for a single. 160/4
